“Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked”
…..and money don’t grow on trees”.. amen. That’s the main theme of the hottest new single and video from Cage The Elephant, “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked”. They are on tour this month in the US coming to Portland next week and Coachella the following. I haven’t spent much time listening to this band but liked this video and song. I will definitely look into their Portland gig which is just around the corner now.
Coincidentally, as I type this my partner is in the wilds of the jungle in Laos on an elephant tower where “wild” and I mean, killer elephants are a foot. She’s helping the locals with here main income source, tourism, specifically, hosting expeditions to see these wild beasts and teach them English skills to improve there ability to communicate with all the English speaking foreigners coming to Laos.
CTE was just performing at SXSW 09. Here’s the front man Matt Schultz doing doing a solo, “Shiver Me Timbers” out at the SXSW Festival.
This next one is my favorite of the band on Jools Holland performing “In One Ear”. The stage antics of Matt on this one remind me a bit of Curt Cobain! Woa!
And finally, the official video from the same song:

I just watched an old episode of Just Shoot Me and the intro theme music is VERY similar to Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked. Has anyone else noticed that????
