Gotye- Video Final Version “Heart’s A Mess”
Coming off the inspiration from blogging the fan based videos (see previous post of Grizzly Bear’s Two Weeks} I recalled my love for Gotye’s creative “Heart’s A Mess” which is one of my all time favs.
Gotye is an Australian artist who is, coincidentally, releasing his first ever US physical release, “Learnalilgivinlovin” from Neon Gold this week(pre order)

Origins of ‘Gotye’
Wally, was embarking on a project that was, in his own words, “about refiguring past things (old vinyl sounds) with my own ideas”. It therefore seemed appropriate to draw on his past for inspiration for the project’s name. Wouter, Gotye’s real name, from Dutch translates into French as Gaultier (or Gautier or Gauthier). Wally’s mother used to call him Gaultier as a pet name. Drawing on this and choosing his own spelling gives us ‘Gotye’.
Thanks for posting some Gotye! I’ve never seen that remix before. I love his music, Heart’s a Mess is amazing… Have you heard the Basics? He drums in that band as a sideline.
