Twilight 2: New Moon (Soundtrack)
The score for New Moon is being composed by Alexandre Desplat. The band Paramore, who had two songs on the original Twilight soundtrack, will not be contributing to the soundtrack for New Moon. Rather, the soundtrack will feature songs from Radiohead, Muse, and Band of Skulls. Death Cab For Cutie will contribute with the soundtrack’s lead single, called “Meet Me On The Equinox”, which will be released on September 13, at MTV Video Music Awards. On July 26, 2009, Jeph Howard of the band The Used stated on Twitter that he and his band were in the studio recording a song for the New Moon soundtrack.
Stay tuned for the 1st single to be released by DCFC “Meet Me On The Equinox”. Via stephaniemeyer.com (i.e., your homepage):
“We are very excited to be a part of this amazing series of novels set in our own backyard. It just seemed a perfect synergy that a band from the Northwest would create a song for a series of novels set in the Northwest. We wrote ‘Meet Me On the Equinox’ to reflect the celestial themes and motifs that run throughout the Twilight series and we wanted to capture that desperate feeling of endings and beginnings that so strongly affect the main characters. This song marks the first attempt that Death Cab for Cutie has ever made at contributing new, unreleased material for a film and we are proud to be a part of the Twilight legacy.”
Twitter rumors about Kelly Clarkson’s unreleased song, “Did You” to be on the soundtrack also.
