Decoder Ring – They Blind The Stars . . .

2009 November 5

decoder ringDecoder Ring released a recent album this past summer (their winter)They Blind The Stars And The Wild Team. The album, which was recorded in the U.S. with American producer Scott Colburn in Seattle(Animal Collective, Arcade Fire). It is the conclusion of a journey (final album?) that began with the multi award winning soundtrack to the Australian film Somersault, which was followed by the critically acclaimed Fractions in 2005. Since their return from North America in 2006, the band’s members have dedicated themselves to a period of sonic exploration in their Sydney based home where this latest release has come forth with its hypnotic but catchy tracks. It’s the type of music that paints landscapes in cinematography.

Decoder Ring is on the list of bands playing in next month’s Sold Out HOMEBAKE Festival in Sydney. Check out the huge line up.
