Powderfinger – Sail the Wildest Stretch

Powderfinger’s lead singer, Bernard Fanning, can definitely pen some soul searching, self reflective, highly emotive lyrics… musically, his voice has a way of reaching into one’s soul and when he hits a certain octave and pitch.. in songs like “These Days” there can be no more melancholy in his breath.. The band has just released another album, their 7th. Bernard and his band five piece Australian mates have been making music together now for over 20 years. Their last album, Powderfinger’s sixth studio album, Dream Days at the Hotel Existence was released in 2007. Debuting at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, it broke the Australian digital sales record, with over 3000 copies sold online.

Although we haven’t yet had enough time to digest this latest album, Golden Rule we have been anxiously waiting. At first listen, “Sail the Wildest Stretch”, appears to be a keeper.

See Powderfinger’s official video of “All of The Dreamers”, the new album’s first video/single.
